Change all folders to the same view

Windows remembers which view was selected the last time you opened a folder, and displays that view the next time you open the folder. But suppose you want to change all your folders to a specific view such as Detail? Here's how:

1. Open My Computer
2. Select the View you prefer
3. On the menu, select Tools | Folder Options
4. Click on the View tab
5. Click on the button Apply to All Folders
6. Click Yes to the message that the view will apply the next time you open a folder
